SUSTAINABILITY AND THE ENVIRONMENT

We want everything that we do in the garden to be not only sustainable but actively beneficial for our environment too.

No Dig
All of our raised beds have been formed using Charles Dowding’s No Dig method, to enhance our soil’s health and structure

Chemicals
We aim to be entirely chemical free and use natural pest control wherever possible. We want to encourage a diverse ecology where slugs and snails also have their role to play!

Bees
We are bee friendly gardeners! Local GP Keith Taylor is responsible for the Walled Garden’s own honey bee colonies and we work towards creating a positive environment for solitary bees within the garden

Plastics
We reuse and recycle wherever possible and avoid single use plastics entirely.
